Stevenson started off his coaching career as head of development in 2010 for the largest country basketball association in New South Wales working as development manager for Newcastle Hunters. Stevenson had considerable success in this role, with both the boys and girl’s teams and tripling development numbers in pathway programs like Learn To Play, Steel Academy and Sporting Schools programs. Rohan was involved in establishing a relationship with the University of Newcastle to enable Bachelor of Education students to be a part of elite sports programs within the Hunter Valley both within Hunter Academy of Sport and Newcastle basketball programs. Rohan also successfully organized and ran Level 0 and Level 1 coaching courses and accredited many new coaches within New South Wales.
In more recent times, Rohan has used his experience to help Indigenous youth in remote parts of New South Wales. He did this by setting up a charity basketball tour named the ‘Coast to the Bush Basketball Tour’. Wilcannia Central School was the host for the first Basketball Tour which was conducted in 2016.
In 2017 Rohan was part of the coaching staff for the SEABL National champions Mount Gambier Pioneers .
